Ext. Party house east. Evening

Mary, Shaquita, and Lolita join Jimmy. Mary gives Jimmy a supportive pat on the back. Jimmy gives a smile.

JIMMY

I'm good sis.

MARY

You sure J-bear. You don't look good.

JIMMY

Gee, thanks. I'm cool, this why I don't do parties though.

MARY

Aww. Don't be like that. All you talk about is black unity. You can't be unified if you don't trust somebody.

JIMMY

People are hard to trust. Everybody got they own little agendas. It was always a so called friend that took down many of our black leaders.

MARY

You hitting high notes with the choir. I got the same history lessons from pops but those people still needed to trust alot of other people to make it to the status they had.

JIMMY

I'm trying to be mad.

Mary hugs Jimmy then pushes him playfully.

MARY

I know but I don't like to see my mean ol' J-Bear unhappy.

Jimmy looks up and smiles at Mary.

JIMMY

Thanks sis.

MARY

I got you. I know this isn't your crowd but try to have fun. Go talk to Debbie or something.

JIMMY

She got two trolls guarding her.

MARY

Well, that sucks. But she gave you her number. That has to mean something.

Jimmy looks over at Debbie. Jimmy begins to smile but catches eyes with Ralph. Jimmy looks away to avoid conflict. Mary notices.

MARY

I think that's her cousin or something. She don't mess with nobody as far as I know. She's a good girl. He's just an jerk.

JIMMY

Yeah he's the one that...

Billy rushes in and grabs Jimmy. The two tussle around. Jimmy pushes Billy back.
